In 2018, Longmont Police received a report of a woman who went missing on St. Patrick's Day. Officers and Detectives worked for over 4 years to try and find Rita Gutierrez-Garcia. During the investigation, it was learned the suspect had brutally assaulted and strangled another woman in similar circumstances only months prior. In 2022, investigators finally were able to give Rita back to her family and bring her killer to justice.
